The amazing Nissan van that comes with a built-in OFFICE

The amazing Nissan ‘business’ van that comes with a built-in OFFICE (and it even slides out so you can work in the fresh air)

  • Nissan exhibited the concept at the 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon – one of the world’s biggest custom car shows
  • A demo video shows how the office pod has room for a computer screen, an office chair and a coffee-maker
  • The van is a customised NV350 Caravan, which also has a roof balcony for ‘relaxing in between work’

It’s the ultimate van for white-collar workers.

This amazing ‘business van’ concept by Nissan comes with a built-in office pod – and it even slides out should the owner fancy working in the fresh air.

A video demonstrating the vehicle – a customised NV350 Caravan – shows how the pod can be slid back and forth using a smartphone.

The clip shows how there’s plenty of room for a large computer screen, a Herman Miller Cosm office chair and a coffee-maker.

The video also showcases the pod’s see-through polycarbonate floor, which would presumably come into its own should the owner deploy the desk over a babbling brook or a patch of lush green grass.

As well as the working space, the footage shows how Nissan has created a ‘luxurious roof balcony’ on top of the vehicle that can be accessed from the inside of the van ‘so that you can relax between work’.

It is also revealed how the front of the van has blacklight carpeted floor mats that glow in the dark, an electric sunshade and a glove box complete with a UV antibacterial lamp.

Nissan says: ‘The NV350 Caravan, a business van for true professionals, is combined with the office pod, which allows you to work at your favourite place according to your free working style.

‘The exterior features front and rear over-fenders and body graphics to express an all-rounder that can handle both on-road and off-road.

‘For the interior, the office can be stored in the car in the city to create a private and safe space, and in nature, the office can be pulled out from the back gate to create a spacious and open space.’

The video of the new concept has had over 64,000 views since it was posted to YouTube, but so far the reactions in the comments section have been mixed. One summed it up as ‘cool but strange’.
