CONDE Nast has named Wales as one of the best destinations to visit in the world in 2023.
A network of well-travelled writers and editors from around the world chose the destinations based on their new offerings with a mixture of places making the cut.
Included in the top 23 are Egypt, Marrakech in Morocco, and two hotspot alternatives in Spain and Portugal.
Wales made the shortlist thanks to its rural highlights, walking paths, new slow-travel routes, outdoor saunas, and a rejuvenated food scene complete with truffles, scallops, cheese, oysters and Welsh lamb on menus across the country.
The judges also noted new pub openings in Cardiff, the whisky distilleries on Swansea's doorstep, and Carmarthenshire's seven-mile stretch of Pendine Sands.
Adventure lovers are also advised to head to Wales next year to enjoy inland surfing and coasteering activities.
