The best value holiday destination for Brits – it's 5 hours away, 35C in summer & the pound is worth 73% more this year | The Sun

EGYPT has been named the 'best value for money' destination, according to the Post Office Travel Money analysis.

Brits will get almost 73 per cent more than a year ago for their pound – which is equivalent to more than £210 extra when exchanging £500.

The yearly guide compares common spending, like meals, drinks and other essentials in different countries.

A meal for two with a bottle of wine will cost around £48 in Sharm el Sheikh this year.

This is because the Turkish lira continued to fall against the pound last year and is now more than 180 per cent weaker than in 2020 during the pandemic.

Egypt might prove to be one of the cheapest destinations to visit in 2023.
