THIS summer has so far been a nightmare for the travel industry, with strikes and cancellations among a number of problems causing chaos.
For travellers, the prospect of having their holidays cancelled has added stress to what is supposed to be the most relaxing time of the year.
With 940 flights cancelled in only the first half of June, compared to just 267 for the same period in 2019, it is no wonder that people are reconsidering their summer getaways.
However, there is help at hand for those still planning a trip abroad this summer.
By focusing on certain airlines and destinations, holidaymakers can cut the odds of their trip abroad being affected.

They suggest looking at "Caribbean routes" or trips to America, including places like Tampa or Orlando in Florida, to improve the odds of your plane taking off.
Places to avoid are those which are considered popular holiday destinations and have several flights each day.
British airways flights to Frankfurt and Milan have both been consistently cut according to Which? while EasyJet services from Gatwick to Venice and Bordeaux are both also problematic routes.
