WHAT'S IT LIKE? This modern high-rise 4* hotel is on More London Place, just south of the Thames, with well-furnished rooms, executive rooms and suites.
ROOMS ANY GOOD? My executive room had a lovely bathroom with power shower, complimentary tea, coffee and water and access to the executive lounge, where you can grab breakfast, nibbles and drinks. The bed was huge and oh-so comfy. A fairytale princess wouldn't have complained about feeling a pea under the mega mattresses.
EAT HERE OR GRAB A PIZZA? The hotel has a Jamie's Italian downstairs and you get a voucher for breakfast. There are also plenty of other lovely places within walking distance to grab a quick bite – or a sit-down feast – meaning you can even enjoy a glass or two of wine before strolling back.
WHAT ELSE? The location couldn't be handier – right next to London Bridge station. You can travel here by a fast train from Gatwick, putting you in the heart of the city in just over 30 minutes. From the Hilton London Tower Bridge it is easy to get to anywhere in the city via the Underground, which is a two-minute walk away.
SO YOU WOULD GO BACK? Absolutely. The staff here were so friendly and very accommodating, happy to help with any little query. It gave me peace of mind in what can be a cold and lonely city.
WHAT'S THE DAMAGE? Double rooms start at £129 night when booked direct at hilton.com or by calling 0203 002 4300.
