The holiday hotspots you can still visit even if your kids aren't vaccinated

HALF term is just around the corner, with families finally able to go on holiday again after years of travel bans and border closures.

However, some countries are still enforcing strict rules for UK arrivals – many of which affect younger travellers.

Some destinations are making it mandatory for kids over the age of 12 to have both jabs, affecting thousands of families who are yet to have their children's second jabs.

Spain, for example, requires anyone over the age of 12 to have been fully vaccinated, or had their booster if their second jab was more than nine months ago, although there is hope this could be lifted due to pressure from the holiday islands.

Thankfully, other destinations are letting kids and teenagers into the country without having to have both jabs.

Here are some of the countries you can still visit this half term even if your kids haven't been fully vaccinated.

Greece

To enter Greece, you don't have to be fully vaccinated, as they have some of the least restrictive rules.

Anyone over the age of five who isn't vaccinated only needs to have a negative Covid test – which can be a lateral flow or a PCR – to visit the country.

If fully vaccinated, you no longer need a negative test to enter Greece.

If not, then arrivals must quarantine for 10 days on arrival, as well as have an essential reason to travel.

Kids 11 and under are exempt from all Covid restrictions to enter France.

Italy

Unvaccinated kids under 18 can enter Italy if they are travelling with a fully vaccinated adult, and have a negative Covid test – either lateral flow or PCR.

Vaccinated adults must also still show a negative Covid test – if not vaccinated, then you must isolate for five days.

Kids under 5 are exempt from all Covid restrictions.
