A HUGE new attraction is set to open by the end of this year that will have the biggest wave pool in the world.
The pool will offer "a high-performance surfing experience", including the world’s "longest ride" and the "biggest barrel".
Surf Abu Dhabi will open before the end of 2023 on Al Hudayriyat Island, a 3,000-hectare island that opened a few years ago in the UAE capital.
It has since become a popular place for beachgoers, sports enthusiasts and families, according to Bayut.
The wave pool will open as part of continued development on the island, with hopes it will host international events as well as provide a place for people to learn how to surf.
It was designed by the Kelly Slater Wave Co., who claim to deliver "unparalleled surf programmes, training and events that share the stoke of surfing".
