The Old Cider House, Prestbury
Sleeping two, the Old Cider House is in Prestbury in the Cotswolds.
Locals of the town often speak of the hooded monk called ‘The Black Abbot’, who frequently haunts the church and the churchyard, whilst several headless horsemen are known to charge through the village.
If you don't mind a scary night in, the cosy cottage has stunning views of the Malvern Hills and a wood burner for the cold evenings.

Snape Castle, The Undercroft, North Yorkshire
History fans of Henry VII should stay at Snape Castle in the Yorkshire Dales.
The castle is said to be haunted by the ghost of Catherine Parr, the last wife of King Henry VII, after she died at the castle in 1542, following her second marriage to Lord Latimer.
Guests should keep an eye out for Catherine's ghost who is said to take the form of a young girl in a Tudor gown with long blond hair – or can make the most of the beautiful Grade I listed rustic cottage.

Garden Cottage, Eyam
Eyam may be a lovely village in the Derbyshire Dales nowadays but is also known as Plague Village.
The village saw the Black Death spread through the village in the 17th century, leading them to quarantine themselves – which has even said to be used as useful scientific research for the coronavirus.
The cosy cottage sleeps two, and you can explore the history with plaques dedicated to those who died, and even see the Boundary stone which was was used to pass food and medicine into the village.

Winster Hall, Peak District
Built 400 years ago, Winster Hall is a stunning Grade II listed country house sleeping up to 16 people, with a scary history.
Legend has it that a daughter of the house’s former owner, Francis Moore, fell in love with a servant, and their forbidden affair ended when the two lovers leapt from the parapet of the hall to their deaths – and is now haunted by the ghost of a ‘White Lady'.
