The UK holiday park people say is 'better than Center Parcs' – and is hundreds of pounds cheaper | The Sun

A FAMILY holiday in the UK can quickly spiral out of control when it comes to cost, with some breaks costing thousands of pounds.

But there is one holiday park which has been compared to Center Parcs – without the price.

Bluestone National Park Resort in Wales is a 500-acre resort, that has on-site lodges as well as with activities and a huge water park.

It ranks highly on TripAdvisor, given 4.6 out of 5 – which beats some of the other Center Parcs resorts such as Woburn Forest and Sherwood Forest.

Last year, Bluestone even beat Center Parcs for being the best holiday park in the UK, following a Which? study.

If you fancy it for yourself, you can book activities such as kayaking, padddleboarding, axe throwing and archery.

Science workshops, mermaid schools, panning for gold and bushcraft are some of the other fun activities too which can be pre-booked.

Like Center Parcs, the resort is car-free so you can rent bikes and buggies to get around the park.

The Blue Lagoon swimming pool is open to the public but has reserved swimming sessions for Bluestone guests as well as watersides and jet sprays.

Also on-site is the Serendome, a covered activity centre with a and 400-seat ampitheatre as well as the Steep Ravine adventure course, restaurants and cafes.

For adults there is also the Well spa which has massages along with a hydrotherapy pool, sea-salt cave and steam and sauna rooms.

And if you want to stay, the resort has hundreds of apartments, cottages and lodges to choose from on-site.

You can even request some extras if it's a special occasion like birthday cakes, champagne and flowers.

With all of that included, it's clear to see the Center Parcs comparison – and many of the breaks are cheaper as well.

Sun Online Travel found a seven-night break at a lodge in Bluestone costing £1,108 for a family of four on July 26.

A similar lodge at Center Parks Woburn Forest would cost £1,408 for the same dates, or £1,598 at Longleat Forest – more than £500 extra.

A four-night, mid-week break in September starts from £308 at Bluestone, and £529 at Woburn Forest.

The resort also has a Lowest Booking Price Guarantee, so if you find it cheaper elsewhere, they will refund the difference.

One mum said she booked a week's holiday in a lodge at Bluestone for around £209 in February – with a similar one at Centre Parcs costing £429 for the same week.

She also said on-site the prices were cheaper too – two pizzas at the village shop were just £5, compared to Center Parcs where they were £8 a pizza.

People on social media were just as blown away with one woman writing on Twitter: "It's like Center Parcs but tiny and not terrifying."

Another person wrote: "Unlike Centre Parcs, it feels like there is a reasonable amount to do at Bluestone before paying for the extra activities."
