These are Airbnb's most liked homes on Instagram for the past year

AIRBNB has revealed the most liked pictures on Instagram over the past year- with the US being the most popular location.

Despite travellers all over the world being grounded due to Covid, this hasn't stopped people from planning their future trips.

And many appear to be opting for bucket list destinations, with the most popular Airbnbs including an 18th-century farmhouse and a wildlife reserve treehouse.

Out of the top 10, just two European destinations made the list, while the US took six spots.

Here are the most beautiful Airbnbs on thousands of people's bucket lists.

1. Zion EcoCabin (Utah, US)

The most liked photo on Airbnb’s Instagram profile in 2021 is the Zion EcoCabin.

The cabin is all about the view with a panorama of the Zion Mountains and is perfect for couples – inside are huge glass windows to take in the views, as well as a fire pit and hot tub.

2. Raven Rock Treehouse (North Carolina, US)

Described by the host as ‘radical off-grid therapy’, Raven Rock Treehouse is located in the trees near Raven Rock Cabin in a 40-acre wilderness wildlife preserve.

Animal lovers will be able to spot bobcats, fox, deer, turkey, hawks, falcons, grouse, owls and of course ravens from the treehouse.

3. Crow’s Nest (California, US) 

Located in the redwoods of Monte Rio, the Crow's Nest provides a birds-eye view of the old growth forest surrounding the property.

Up to four people can stay, with a hot tub, fire pit and BBQ grill on the deck, as well as a telescope for stargazing.

4. The Kingdom A-frame (Virginia, US)

Built in 1968, The Kingdom A-Frame is minutes away from the Kingdom Trails, Burke Mountain and Lake Willoughby.

There are three bedrooms, as well as a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee bar and even a games room with board games, Netflix and computer games.

The Woodlands House sits on five acres of an old growth private forest and offers two outdoor decks surrounded by towering pine trees.

The four-bedroom house has two outdoor decks, with animals including deer often coming up close.

Villa Amalfi is a modern villa in the popular resort of Tulum with large windows which gives the feeling of indoor-outdoor living.

Seventh on the list is this Mariner Boathouse, docked at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers in Belgrade.

Surrounded by century-old oaks, the 10-bed Maison Lafleur farmhouse dates back to the 18th century but a recent renovation has added modern comforts like a heated pool.
