PORTUGAL is one of the only holiday destinations opening to Brits from May 17, following the announcement of the UK's green list.

What are the entry requirements to go on holiday to Portugal?
Portugal will be opening to Brits from mid-May, they have already confirmed.
However, they are likely to initially require Brits to be fully vaccinated to be allowed to enter the country, or to have a negative Covid test, as confirmed by Portugal's tourism minister Rita Marques.
Families will not have to quarantine on arrival. This includes the islands – Azores and Madeira too.
Madeira is even offering a free PCR Covid test to all arrivals or departures.
What are the travel restrictions when returning to the UK?
Brits returning from Portugal from May 17 will not have to quarantine when arriving in the UK.
However, families will still need two Covid tests – one taken before arrival and one on day two.
TUI has recently launched £20 Covid test kits which Brits can book through the tour operator if returning from a green country.
Are there any Covid restrictions in Portugal?
Portugal currently has some Covid restrictions in place although will lift the "Situation of Calamity" final measures from May 16.
Rsstaurants and cafes are allowed to open until 10:30pm, with groups of six indoors or groups of ten outdoors.
Cinemas and theatres are open, along with bars.
When heading to the beach, tourists must wear masks when walking near people.
Social distancing rules must also still be followed in busy public spaces.

While Portugal's vaccine rollout is slower than the UK – just 27 per cent have been given the first dose, compared to the UK's 52 per cent – their Covid rates are very low.
The country reported just 324 new cases yesterday, and zero deaths.
