This Shropshire hall looks straight out of Bridgerton – and you can book a stay

Big Bridgerton fan? Us too. And like us, you’ll probably go into ‘I have to stay there immediately!’ red alert whenever you see a posh stately home or a fancy hall that has the same aura as the sets we fell in love with on the show.

Hawkstone Hall in Shropshire, West Midlands, completely fits that very specific, very bougie need.

Sitting in the last part of England before you reach Wales, near the market town of Shrewsbury and quaint little town of Wem, this magnificent, luxurious hall is available to stay in, and even host your wedding (imagine!)

Here’s what you can expect from your stay…

With ceilings gilded in gold, sweeping staircases, four-poster luxury suites with roll-top tubs and 88 acres of pristine gardens, it’s hard not to feel like Royalty while staying at Hawkstone Halls & Gardens Estate.

The 18th-century mansion is now a hotel, which you and your partner or a pal can stay in, starting from £558.

Currently, Hawkstone Hall is offering a Summer Escape deal, including:

  • A glass of Prosecco on arrival or non-alcoholic option
  • A two night stay in a luxurious bedroom or suite of your choice
  • Dinner each evening in the Saloon Restaurant or Hill’s Kitchen
  • Breakfast each morning, choosing from a selection of continental and cooked options, along with natural yoghurt, fresh fruit & juices
  • Use of the sustainable Orangery Gym
  • Complimentary bicycle & welly hire to explore the gardens, the Lily & Stew Pond and our brand-new Kitchen Garden
  • Complimentary hire of traditional garden games and badminton
  • The opportunity to take part in our historical audio tour, learning about Hawkstone’s history that dates back to 1701
  • Private film screenings in the cave
  • In-room Elemis spa treatments from skin-renewal facials to deep-tissue massages

The price depends on the room you choose, with the following options available:

  • Classic bedrooms: £558.00 per couple
  • Cosy Suite: £798.00 per couple
  • Luxury Suite: £898.00 per couple

Named after literary greats, you can choose between Beatrix, Woolf, Tennyson, Milne, Rowling, Austen, Wordsworth, Byron, Keats, Shelley, Du Maurier and Christie for our suite of choice. Stays are available from Monday – Sunday (Saturdays are usually reserved for their weddings) based on current availability.

You can even bring your dog along for a luxurious weekend of pampering and great food.

Hawkstone Hall provide a limited amount of dog-friendly suites they can arrange with enough notice (and a £20 fee for housekeeping) and will even provide a ‘yappy meal’, a goody bag full of treats and a pet check-in card (adorable) for your furry friend.

Nearby activities

If you’re looking for something to do nearby during your stay at Hawkstone, the hall is a quick taxi and a train away from Shrewsbury market town, where you can go shopping, grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks. The town is also home to a lot of history, being the birthplace of Charles Darwin with a lot of Tudor buildings still in tact.

Also nearby are the Hawkstone Follies, where guests are able to walk on some of the most scenic hikes and walks in the UK, and the famous Hawkstone Park championship golf course (you can work on your swing) less than a mile away.

If you’re looking to truly embody old school traditions for a classic country jaunt, there’s even a spot for laser clay pigeon shooting.

But if shooting isn’t for you and you’re looking for something more peaceful to do off-grounds, there’s a nearby space for some serene wild lake fishing.

If you’re up for a weekend of pure luxury, pampering and countryside tranquillity (who wouldn’t be?) you can book your stay on the Hawkstone Hall website.
