BRITS planning to book their holiday in the Black Friday sales have been warned to check they are actually getting a good deal.
Experts have said that some "discounts" may not be as much of a saving as it appears.
Black Friday will take place on November 25 this year, followed by Cyber Monday on November 28.
However, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) head of ATOL Michael Budge warned to "do a bit of research" before booking to avoid paying for a "bargain" that isn't actually a bargain.
He explained: “Even with the sharp rise in the cost of living, it seems there is a real appetite to travel overseas next year.
“Travel companies are increasingly advertising discounts on getaways to UK consumers during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales period.

“Deals can seem attractive, but before booking, we would urge everyone to just do a bit of research to make sure it really is a bargain."
He also warned Brits to check their holidays are ATOL protected, and to book with a credit card for extra protection.
New research by Which? suggests that just one in seven Black Friday offers represents a genuine discount.
Which analysed 214 offers from seven of the biggest retailers in last year’s Black Friday. and found 183 – 86 per cent – were cheaper or the same price at some point in the six months before the promotion.
