TUI cancels more holidays including to Spain and Turkey

TUI has cancelled more holidays as destinations remain on the UK's amber and red list.

Despite many countries now being on the green list – which allow quarantine-free return to the UK – many holiday hotspots are still enforcing restrictions.

The tour operator had already cancelled trips to some destinations up unil November, which included green list Malta and Bulgaria.

However, they have also added more destinations including to Spain which are on hold until October 31 at the earliest.

Here is the full list of cancellations, up until November:

Holidays cancelled until August 31:

  • Aruba
  • Cancun, Mexico
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Maldives
  • Mauritius
  • Naples, Italy
  • Sri Lanka
  • Tanzania
  • Thailand
  • Phuket, Turkey
  • US

Holidays cancelled until September 4:

  • Cape Verde
  • Canada
  • Costa Rica
  • Cuba
  • Dominican Republic
  • Egypt
  • Kenya
  • Seychelles
  • Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
  • Tunisia

Holidays cancelled until October 31:

  • Italy – Sardinia, Sicily and Calabria (holidays to Sardinia and Sicily with partner airlines to continue – only TUI flights cancelled)
  • Spain – Girona, Almeria
  • Malta (holidays with partner airlines will continue)
  • Bulgaria
  • Kvarner Bay, Croatia
  • Los Cabos, Mexico
  • Montenegro

However, the airline is still operating to a number of green list destinations which includes most of Croatia and Madeira, as well as holidays with non-TUI flights such as Malta, Iceland, Gibraltar and Barbados.

Amber-list destinations sill on sale include most of Spain, including the Balearic and Canary Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Jamaica and Switzerland.

They have also resumed non-TUI flight holidays to Dubai after the UAE was added to the amber list, and trips to Naples in Italy will resume from September 3.

TUI confirmed that they are not offering holidays to any red list destinations, or any that require a quarantine on arrival.

They added: "If we need to cancel holidays because of updated government guidance, or after reviewing our holiday programme, we will contact customers and aim to give at least seven days advance notice."

Families who have their holidays cancelled can get a full refund, or change to a later date with a booking incentive.
