THE Eiffel Tower has had a growth spurt thanks to the installation of a new antenna.
The iconic landmark now towers even higher above Paris after a new communications antenna was put on top, making it six metres taller.
The antenna was added on Tuesday and means the Eiffel Tower now reaches 330m into the sky.
According to the Associated Press, the Eiffel Tower company's president Jean-François Martins said scientific progress is an integral part to the tower's 133-year history.
He said: "It's a historical moment because the Eiffel Tower is getting higher, which is not so common.
"From the invention of the radio at the beginning of the 20th century to right now, decades after decades, the Eiffel Tower has been a partner for all the radio technology."
