A WOMAN with a keen eye for the cheapest beers has revealed how some European cities sell pints for just over a pound – in stark contrast to extravagant UK pub prices.
TikTok user @simplyyykatie has been taking a tour of the continent and advising revellers on where to head for the best value.
And it turns out thirsty punters worried about their wallets ought to hit eastern Europe – as "Simply Katie" highlighted tourist hotspots in Hungary, Romania and Poland.
She captioned the video review with the tempting question: "Who doesn't love a £1 pint?"
Pints as cheap as £1.21 are on offer in Hungarian capital Budapest, she revealed – which should have come as some cheer to football fans attending last month's Uefa Europa League final there.
As well as serving up bargain pints, Budapest has also given the world such famous names as actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor, escape artist Harry Houdini, and ex-Real Madrid football legend Ferenc Puskas.

Second best for thrifty drinkers appears to be Bucharest, with visitors to the Romanian capital promised a pint could cost just £1.48.
And Poland's second city Krakow comes third, with a mere £2 needing to be handed over per pint.
The low prices are a fraction of what bars charge across Britain.
Across the UK the average price of a pint has now soared to more than £4.20 – yet in parts of the capital London, and not only central areas such as Soho, pubs are charging at least £7.

And Tremaine declared: "Europe! Where the views are great but the beers are better!"
Yet the original TikTokker was also jokingly told: "Can tell you're British when you work out prices by how much a pint is."
