Woman slams passenger who uses sneaky trick on a flight to take her window seat | The Sun

A WOMAN has gone viral after telling a crazy story about a sneaky passenger on her plane who tried to steal her window seat.

The man was supposed to be sat in the middle seat, but came up with a crafty plot to steal the one by the window instead.

However, the woman who was due to sit there, Chelsea Zeferina (@chelseazeferina) stood her ground and made him move to where he was supposed to be sat.

In a video on Tiktok, she said: "I was flying on a red eye from San Francisco to New York, and I had booked a window seat so that I could sleep.

"And I go to board the flight. It's like 11 o'clock at night. I get to my row, and there is a man in my seat with his hoodie over his eyes, like, pretending to already be asleep.

"And I tap him on his shoulder and I'm like, 'excuse me, that's my seat'.

"He looks up at me, he was not sleeping. He looks up at me and he goes, 'oh, do you mind if I sit here? I'm supposed to be in the middle seat, but I don't want to sit there'.

"And I was like, 'yes, I mind. It's 11 o'clock at night. We're flying a red eye to New York. I booked that seat on purpose. That's my seat'.

"And he gets all huffy and puffy, gets all of his stuff up and moves over to the middle seat.

"[He was] mad the entire flight. Mad. The audacity to just sit there, pretend that you're sleeping, and then get mad when I ask for my seat that I booked and paid for back. People are crazy."

Chelsea's video has been seen more than 780,000 times and most people were on her side.

One wrote: "I'd have been THRILLED that he flew 3000 miles in a state of rage."

Another said: "I will not in a 1,000,000 years give up my window seat!"

A third added: "I am constantly blown away by the audacity of people who feel they are entitled."

Flight attendants agree with Chelsea too, with Sun Online Travel's resident cabin crew member explaining why passengers don't have to switch seats if they don't want to.

They said: "If that's your seat, you have absolutely no obligation to move whatsoever.

"If you want to be friendly and let separated friends, partners, parents, whoever sit next to one another, you're welcome to, but don't feel bad about saying no either.

"People who have been separated can sometimes get so upset when people refuse to move so that they can together, but it's only a few hours, they'll survive.

"They're the ones who are being difficult here, not those who are happy to stay in a seat that they've paid, sometimes extra, to sit in."
