YOU can rent an entire castle in Portugal with 12 bedrooms and a private pool – and it will cost you just £42pp a night.

You and your mates can live like royalty in the Santa Marta de Portuzelo Castle, which can sleep up to 16 people.

The 12th-century property is a whopping 21,528sqft, and is set over two floors and a tower – perfect for some fairytale pictures.

The home has 12 bedrooms, nine of which are available to guests, which all come with an en-suite bathroom and two of them even have a fireplace.

There are three living rooms, two dining rooms, a huge kitchen and a chapel – plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself.

From the first floor, you can see the Lima River nearby and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.

Unbelievably, the castle isn't even the best part – the 4.2 acre gardens are sprawling and can be accessed via a tunnel.

The garden features a watchtower and a 16th-century fountain with beautiful landscaping including orange, lemon and fig trees.

Guests have access to the private swimming pool too.

The castle is 40 minutes from Porto making it a peaceful spot away from crowds, but still easy enough to head into the city to soak up some culture.

Guests will have access to the entire house, except three bedrooms, the chapel and the tower, which are private access only.

The castle is available to rent on Airbnb and costs from £671 per night – which works out at just £42 each for 16 people.

There is a three-night minimum stay and well-behaved pets are allowed.
