Adam Kinzinger DISOWNED by family who say GOP Rep was part of 'devil’s army' for voting to impeach Trump

Republican Representative Adam Kinzinger has been disowned by his family who accuse him of being part of 'devil’s army' for voting to impeach Trump.

The Illinois Republican has released a two-page letter sent by eleven members of his family after the January 6 insurrection.

Kinzinger was amongst the ten Republicans who publicly opposed the former president and requested the 25th Amendment to be invoked, following the Capitol riots.

The handwritten letter, obtained by the New York Times begins: “Oh my, what a disappointment you are to us and to God!”

The writer accuses him of working with “the devil’s army” “Democrats” and the “fake news media.”

“We thought you were ‘smart’ enough to see how the left is brainwashing many ‘so called good people’ including yourself and many other GOP members,” the letter continued.

“President Trump is not perfect but neither are you or any of us for that matter!”

The letter that is dated January 8 continues:

“To embrace a party that believes in abortion and socialism is the ultimate sin,’ they continued.

“You should be very proud that you have lost the respect of Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Greg Kelly, etc., and most importantly in our book, Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh and us!

“It is now most embarrassing to us that we are related to you.

“You have embarrassed the Kinzinger family name!"

“We are not judging you,’ the family said. ‘This letter is our opinion of you!’

“Oh, by the way, good luck in your fund raising endeavors. We are sure (we know) there are many other good GOP and Christian supporters that feel the same way we do.”

Speaking to the New York Times Kinzinger’s cousin, Karen Otto, said she wrote the letter and mailed it to Kinzinger's father to make sure he would see it.

She also sent copies to other Republicans across the state.

“I wanted Adam to be shunned,” she said.

But  Kinzinger, a 42-year-old Air National Guard pilot was unfazed and said he does not wish to reach out to members of his family suffer from “brainwashing” caused by conservative churches that have led them astray..

He said: “I hold nothing against them but I have zero desire or feel the need to reach out and repair that. That is 100 per cent on them to reach out and repair, and quite honestly, I don’t care if they do or not.”

Kinzinger was one of the three House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump and strip Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia from her committee posts.

Speaking about his beliefs of re-format of the Republican Party he said: “We just fear.

“Fear the Democrats. Fear the future. Fear everything. And it works for an election cycle or two.

“The problem is it does real damage to this democracy.”
