The sleeping giant of the American Mom has been awakened and is “filled with a terrible resolve,” as Japanese Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto once said of the United States after his country’s attack on Pearl Harbor.

These mothers’ watershed moment is the hateful cult of “critical race theory” which is being shoved down their children’s throats under the guise of “equity” and “anti-racism.”

In reality, CRT is simply another version of a deadly old ideology that is Marxist and utopian in nature — only this time it seeks to divide people by race, rather than by class.

What the mothers instinctively know, in school board meetings across the country where they stand up courageously to fight for their children, is that a poisonous form of brainwashing has crept into the classroom and it hurts everyone equally, regardless of race.

They see their children divided into an “oppressor” class and an “oppressed” class based on the color of their skin. The white kids are the oppressors who are taught to hate themselves, and the nonwhite kids are the oppressed who are taught to hate the white kids. Those Asian, black and Hispanic kids who don’t agree that they are oppressed, who don’t want to be robbed of their agency and looked upon as victims, and don’t want to hate their white friends, are judged also to be suffering from the dreadful scourge of “whiteness.”

Moms can see in their own children’s confusion and distress that what their school is teaching is wrong. In true Orwellian fashion, it is installing racism in the classroom and calling it anti-racism.

When they’re not “doxing” the moms and setting up Facebook hate groups against them, the mothers’ critics are busy trying to pretend that fear of CRT is the product of a conservative conspiracy theory, a mere Fox News “obsession,” and that we all are too stupid to understand what it means.

So, thank goodness for refugees from countries where Marxist ideology was imposed in the last century, resulting in 100 million dead in Mao’s China, in Stalin’s Russia, and in Eastern Europe, Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and beyond.

Escapees from Communist China and the Soviet Bloc have inoculated America from the evils of Marxism in the past, but it seems every generation needs a new lesson.

Step forward the wonderful Xi Van Fleet, a Virginia woman who escaped China’s Cultural Revolution when she was 26, and gave her local Loudoun County school board a lesson in history at a public meeting last week.

“You are now teaching, training our children to be social justice warriors and to loathe our country and our history,” she said. “Critical Race Theory has its roots in cultural Marxism. It should have no place in our school.”

She recognized in CRT the same toxic ideology she suffered through from the age of 6 in Sichuan province.

“The Communist regime used the same critical theory to divide people. The only difference is they used class instead of race.

She likened the new “bias reporting system” and “Student Equity Ambassador program” set up in Loudoun public schools to the Chinese purges and denouncements in which children turned against parents, and neighbors turned on each other.

‘We were taught to denounce our heritage, and Red Guards destroyed anything that is not communist . . . statues, books and anything else. We were also encouraged to report on each other.”

She is concerned that well-meaning Americans don’t understand what she sees so clearly. “They are thinking they are doing the right thing,” she told Fox News. “ ‘Be against racism’ sounds really good. But they are basically breaking the system that is against racism.”

Van Fleet is one of a diverse army of mothers across the country who have become the last line of defense against an ideology that has infiltrated every institution, from the media and universities to the Federal Reserve and even the military.

They are making a difference: Red states are lining up to ban schools from teaching CRT or the allied fake history of the New York Times’ 1619 Project. Florida was the latest to do so last week.

“It’s offensive to the taxpayer that they would be asked to fund . . . teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other,” said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

What the moms know better even than the politicians is that the schools are just the latest battlefront in a war between a new Marxist, woke America which has taken over the Democratic Party and the traditional, patriotic America, “the land of the free and the home of the brave” where “all men are created equal,” no matter the color of their skin.

Sometimes it takes an immigrant to remind us how bad the alternative is.

More than 30 years ago, another refugee from communism sounded a warning: KGB propagandist Yuri Bezmenov, who worked for the Novosti press agency before defecting from the Soviet Union in 1970.

In a prescient interview in 1984 that was used as the basis for the video game “Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War,” he warned about the Marxist technique of conquering a country through “ideological subversion.”

The propaganda technique he was taught in KGB school, he said was a 15– to 20-year stage of “psychological warfare to change the perception of reality of every American to such an extent that, despite an abundance of information, no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interests of defending themselves, their families, their community and their country.”

Sound familiar?

This “great brainwashing process” is called “demoralization,” Bezmenov said.

The communist aim is to turn America from an open society to a closed one, “which is a carbon copy of the Soviet, communist or socialist or fascist society,” he wrote in his book “Black is beautiful. Communism is not.”

Turn “the blacks against the whites, the teachers against students . . . and keep on fighting, my dear friends, until you demoralize and destabilize yourself and then you flop like a rotten apple and the enemy will take over . . .

“To rid society of these people you need another 20 years to educate a new generation of patriotically minded and common-sense people.”

Belatedly, it has come down to the moms — and the brave dads, of course — to do that, to rescue a generation from every school across the country where this toxic ideology has taken root. Even in the elite prep schools of Manhattan, resistance is breaking out, and the overpaid school principals won’t want to be on the wrong side of it when class is back in the fall.

You got that right, Joe

When he wasn’t mixing up Syria and Libya, calling climate change a “sexessential” threat, “harassing the full potential” of democracy or wandering around looking like a lost soul in Cornwall, President Biden managed to tell us that the G-7 had vowed to root out corruption. He said shell companies and money laundering “constitute a threat to our security.”

Quick! Somebody warn Hunter.

NYT: The Pulitzer propagandists

The New York Times just won a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the pandemic, which was notable for falsely labeling the “lab leak” hypothesis a “fringe . . . conspiracy theory.” That’s on par with its Pulitzer for pushing the Russia collusion hoax. And who could forget the 1932 Pulitzer it won for Walter Duranty’s Soviet propaganda denying the Ukrainian famine and dekulakization? Pulitzer is the prize for most believable propaganda.
