Arthur Labinjo-Hughes' evil killer dad was NOT attacked behind bars, cops say – but he's been moved to a new jail

ARTHUR Labinjo-Hughes' evil killer dad was NOT attacked behind bars, cops say – but he has been moved to a new jail anyway.

Six-year-old Arthur was starved, poisoned with salt and eventually beaten to death after being tortured by his dad Thomas Hughes, 29, and stepmum Emma Tustin, 32.

Hughes was jailed for 21 years for manslaughter – while Tustin has been locked up for 29 years for murdering the tot in Solihull.

Arthur's dad Hughes is understood to have changed prisons recently, but this is not due to an attack by raging fellow inmates, the Ministry of Justice confirmed.

A spokesperson told Birmingham Live: "We checked with the prison governor and there's been no assault or injuries."

A blog post shared last month claiming Hughes was pummelled has been dubbed a "rumour".

Both Hughes and Tustin are facing more jail time after their "lenient" sentences were referred to the Court of Appeal by the Attorney General.

The dad finally agreed to release Arthur's body in December so he can be laid to rest 16 months after he was murdered.

Hughes' lawyer Bernard Richmond QC said the killer had left the issue of Arthur's remains to his family and the boy's mum Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow.

But today, heartbroken loved ones claimed they have been banned from the boy's funeral amid a family split.

Paternal relatives are understood to have been blocked from attending the send-off by the six-year-old's maternal side of the family.

A man claiming to be the brother of Arthur's killer dad revealed the latest cruel twist on the Arthur’s Voice Facebook page.

Daniel wrote: "Today was a new low. Today, my family and I were informed we will not be allowed to attend the funeral."

He lashed out at the maternal side of the family for "trying to have a funeral without telling us".

Daniel said: "We will not “gatecrash” Arthur’s funeral, it could lead to a scene and that beautiful little boy deserves only the best send off.

"It’s not a pick a side situation. There are no sides. There is only Arthur. Maternal and paternal families grieve for him."
