Authorities Investigating TikTok Video That May Show Missing Ark. Teen

Authorities in Arkansas are investigating a TikTok video that some people believe features Cassie Compton, a missing teen who vanished in 2014.

The short video shows a girl with black eyes sitting in the backseat of a car between two men. She stares silently into the camera as the two men speak to one another.

Internet users were quick to point out that the girl looks like Compton, who went missing from her Stuttgart home she was 15 years old, according to Fox16 and KATV.

"We appreciate all the tips and information about Cassie Compton. We have the video from TikTok and have the seen the Facebook posts," the Stuttgart Police Department said in a statement, THV11 reports. "We are working diligently with the Arkansas State Police and FBI right now. Since this still an open investigation we can't release any further information right now."

Compton disappeared soon after returning home from a day at the demolition derby.

"She had stayed the night with family friends and came home, on Sunday," Stuttgart Police Chief Mark Duke told KATV in 2019. "The mother and the boyfriend were there. She went in, she left a few minutes later, and that's where the mystery starts."

While Compton's mother believes foul play is involved, no charges have been filed in her daughter's disappearance.

"I was there the morning she was reported missing," Duke said in 2019. "And you know, it's like anything else. You think, 'alright, she's mad, she left, we'll find her.' And then it went sideways from there."

Anyone with information about what happened to Cassie or her whereabouts is urged to contact Stuttgart Police Department at 870-673-1414 or the FBI at 501-221-9100.
