Chris Fakes forecast an area of low pressure in Europe that is causing big storms in the continent. The BBC meteorologist stated that France, northern Italy, Switzerland, and parts of Germany could face flooding as a result of the heavy downpours.

Mr Fawkes said: “On Tuesday we have got some very heavy thundery showers on the way to parts of eastern France, northern Italy, Switzerland, and into parts of Germany as well.

“The area of low pressure responsible for these big storms is bringing some hail with it.

“Also around 50 to 75mms of rain.

“There is a risk of localised flooding from these particularly downpours.

“Over the next few days, we are going to see a slow-moving weather front form, over the next few days we could see as much as 150mms of rainfall.

“All the while, southeast Europe is hot and sunny.”

England has already faced flooding across the country with London noticeably affected.

On Monday the London Fire Brigade admitted it had been inundated with calls as a result of the flooding.
