Vivien was recovered from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

She was found without her seatbelt on but a toxicology report revealed that she had no alcohol or drugs in her system at the time and she had no pre-existing medical conditions.

Her family told a liaison officer that she would tend to avoid unknown roads and used a SatNav to get around, but there was no evidence that she was using her phone when the crash took place.

PC Sean Redman said: "Why she steered an incorrect course is unknown.

"Her unfamiliarity with the road, a distraction or inattention or a combination appears to me to be the most likely factors in the course of this collision."

Coroner Simon Milburn recorded the cause of death as drowning following the crash.

He added: "I would like to pass on my condolences for the family's loss.

"It is difficult to imagine the extent of their grief of the loss of such a young child."

Milan and Vivien's family have returned to their native Hungary and have not released a statement.
