William and Kate will be greeted by a familiar sight during an engagement near Boston on Thursday – as a young boy dressed in the uniform of the King’s Guard waits excitedly to greet them.

Henry Dynov-Teixeira, eight, was so impressed by the changing of the guard when he visited Buckingham Palace earlier this year that he asked his family for a costume – and was proudly wearing it, complete with bearskin, ahead of the Royal visit.

Henry, is from Somerville, Massachusetts, where the Prince and Princess of Wales are visiting a climate innovation company today.

Henry, who goes to the British International School in Boston, told DailyMail.com: ‘I wanted this outfit because when we went to London we saw the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and I decided that I wanted that costume. I had never seen it before.’

Henry joked that he loves the royal family so much because he ‘wants to live in Buckingham Palace’, which was ‘really nice’.

His mom, Melissa Teixeira, 42, added: ‘He goes to a British school so naturally we wanted to check out the UK and when we visited we were really excited about the changing of the guard.

William and Kate were greeted by huge cheers and applause as they arrived at Greentown Labs. The couple pulled up outside in a hybrid Range Rover, specially selected to match the climate message of their trip.

They shook hands with officials outside the building before turning to smile and wave at the huge crowds – triggering excited cheers.

Rebecca said: ‘They have come to our home. We live ten minutes away – they have come to knock on our door practically. I think it’s really exciting and clearly there’s an appetite for it here.’

Prue added: ‘I think the Earthshot prize is great – there needs to be a greater focus on environmental causes.’

Freezing weather didn’t stop hundreds of royal lovers gathering for a glimpse of the Prince and Princess of Wales at a climate innovation company near Boston on Thursday afternoon.

They flew into Boston as a royal racism scandal erupted back home in London.  Wills’ godmother Lady Susan Hussey was made to resign from her role as lady-in-waiting to Queen Camilla after repeatedly asking black charity founder Ngozi Fulani where she was from, and whether she was born in Africa.

Fulani is British. The royal couple’s first US visit since 2014 was further upstaged by the release of the trailer for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix documentary.

That show is expected to premiere on December 8, and shows Wills’ brother Harry and his sister-in-law Meghan alluding to difficulties they suffered during Meghan’s brief stint as a working royal.
