Brian Laundrie sighting in Tillman’s Corner, Alabama, under investigation by Mobile cops as his Florida home is searched

ALABAMA police are investigating possible Brian Laundrie sightings in Mobile, the same day his parents' Florida home was searched.

On Monday authorities confirmed they are looking into rumors that Gabby Petito's missing fiancé was spotted in Tillman’s Corner, but added they have not been able to confirm anything.

These rumors spread on social media Monday morning, as reported by WKRG.

However, Mobile police told NewsNationNow reporter Brian Entin they "have not been able to confirm that Brian Laundrie has been spotted in Mobile. "

Meanwhile, crowds gathered outside as a body was recovered near a dumpster outside a Walmart store in Tillman's Corner, according to NBC15.

Thousands more watched on a Facebook livestream as detectives worked the scene, as speculation grew that the body could be that of Laundrie, who has been missing since Tuesday.

But the body was identified and found to not be Laundrie, al.com reported.

Also on Monday Laundrie’s silver Ford Mustang has been towed away from the family home in North Port, Florida.

Laundrie is said to have gone off for a hike in a 25,000-acre nature preserve in the Sarasota area on Tuesday, according to his family.

A search of the swampland started Saturday morning but was called off by police Monday, who said they had “exhausted all avenues in searching of the grounds there.”

The search for Laundrie continues after he was declared a “person of interest” last week in the disappearance of Gabby Petito.

Cops started searching the Laundrie family home today and bundled his parents into a police van after declaring a "crime scene."

The latest developments in the bizarre case came just hours after a body was found in the search for Petito.

The FBI announced a "search warrant" twice before they removed Chris and Roberta Laundrie from the home. The parents were placed in a van on their lawn.

In a statement, the FBI confirmed that they were executing a "court-authorized search warrant."

It comes after human remains were discovered in Grand Teton National Park, where 22-year-old Gabby Petito had been camping with Laundrie when she disappeared.

The vlogger had been traveling across America since July and was last seen on August 24 leaving a Utah hotel with her fiancé.

They visited national parks and tourist attractions, documenting their trip on social media, before she went missing.

On September 1, Laundrie returned home to Florida in their white van, without Petito.
