Police dogs could soon be kitted out with a futuristic helmet complete with a camera that livestreams their view, officials have announced.
The latest technology, attached to the head of the cops’ loyal pooches, even has interchangeable lenses – meaning sunglasses can be swapped in during hot weather.
Top materials including impact-resistant nylon 12 were used by drone specialists heliguy, who worked alongside Cumbria Constabulary to make the equipment comfortable for the brave police dogs.

PC Glenn Myerscough, a dog handler at the station, reckons the revolutionary dog camera will transform police firearms operations.
He explained: "The camera allows us to work alongside our firearms officers and offers them a real-time commentary of what the dog sees ahead of the team, which is obviously a big plus.
“This allows our firearms officers to plan and confidently and safely move forward knowing what they are going to face.
"The footage is clear and crisp. The camera utilises a fisheye lens, which gives a wide-angle view of what the dogs sees.”

Videos taken by the cop dogs are also uploaded to the police force’s evidence system afterwards.
It has a remarkable HD camera which can be viewed on a 1080p screen and also boasts an impressive 500m range and four hours battery life.
But its use won’t be limited to just police operations and may also have applications in military usage and search and rescue operations.

It’s the latest in a series of technological advancements amongst police dogs.
Last year cops announced they were offering their four-legged partners bullet-proof vests in a bid to keep them safer whilst working.
Staffordshire Police became one of the first forces in the UK to introduce the kit in a bid to protect its canines against knives, bullets, spikes and impact from a wide variety of blunt objects.
