Couple accused of murder ‘had sex in victim’s bed as she died in next room’

A couple who were arrested after a woman was brutally beaten to death reportedly had sex in the victim's bed while she laid dying in the next room.

Brinlee Denison, 25, and Nicholas Johnson, 28, are accused of murdering Sarah Maguire, 29, with a crowbar inside her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.

The pair are facing charges of first-degree murder and vehicle theft following the incident which took place on January 4.

Cops reportedly issued a welfare check at Maguire's home and sadly found her unresponsive in her living room shortly after 5pm, reports New York Post.

It was reported that the 29-year-old had “obvious signs of trauma to her head and face” and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an affidavit from Tulsa police obtained by KNWA.

They were arrested after police found them sleeping in Maguire's stolen car parked by a restaurant in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Her family reported that her credit cards had also been stolen.

According to the affidavit, Denison and Johnson have since given “a full confession of beating the victim about the head with a crowbar, fleeing the scene by stealing the victim’s vehicle, and funding the trip with the victim’s stolen credit cards".

Johnson told authorities that he was in an "intimate relationship" with Denison but she was also in a relationship with the victim which made him "jealous".

He then revealed that he knew that Maguire was still alive when he slept with Denison in her bed and "could still hear the victim struggling to live."

The 25-year-old went on to say that Denison helped him plan the vile murder and tossed the clothing they had worn out of the vehicle window as they fled, according to the affidavit.

Maguire’s sister Jamie has since paid tribute to her sibling in a heart-wrenching post on Facebook and thanked Tulsa Police for their assistance on the case.

She said: "Our family has suffered a devastating blow this week. My sister Sarah has lost her life in a senseless act of violence.

"Please keep our family in your prayers as we navigate through this time. Rest assured justice is being served and we owe our greatest debt of gratitude to the Tulsa Police Department.”
