Residents of a sleepy Scottish village were baffled after spotting a dog literally eating his way out of a house.
In a now viral clip, an enormous light coloured dog is seen chewing steadily chewing through a closed front door in Kelty, Fife.
Pedestrians stopped in awe at the sight as the hungry pooch gnawed away at the letterbox with one person claiming they could hear it from their house.
Reacting on social media, they said: “I wondered what I was hearing earlier. OMG!”
Another said: ‘I walked passed with my dog the other day and thought it was going to break through the window!’
Others were convinced the incident was ‘fake/photoshopped’ until they saw the video.
In the clip, which is arguably a canine version of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, the dog is seen poking its head out of a large hole in the door.
Locals stopped and watched as the hungry dog made light work of the door frame
It is unclear how long the dog had been eating through the door
Residents couldn’t believe their eyes as the hungry pooch chowed through the door
Unfazed by the attention of the locals, the pooch returns to his work and continues to bite the wood where a letterbox should be.
Chunks of the wood are seen falling from the wreckage – but still it continues, remorselessly.
It is unknown who owns the dog or if they are aware of what it did, much to the delight of some locals.
Discussing the incident on a Kelty Facebook group, one said: ‘Imagine explaining this to council?!
‘I know the dog eat ma homework but never the dog eat though door!’
