Driver crushed by debris from UK’s ‘worst hotel’ which locals want bulldozed

A coach driver and holidaymaker have been left injured by debris flying from 'Britain's worst hotel'.

The Britannia Grand Burstin Folkestone in Kent has long been slated by disgruntled guests for a host of reasons shared on review site TripAdvisor.

A shocking video uploaded to Facebook on Monday night shows part of the hotel's exterior wall scattered across its entrance and pavement where a coach was parked outside.

Large sections of the establishment’s fascia crumbled and injured two people, prompting an extensive emergency service response which cordoned the area off.

The missing render in between large windows and the hotel's name signage, appears to stretch across two storeys with the torn off materials blown way out onto the road.

In the clip, blustering wind which most likely battered the building and dangerously stripped it of material can be heard still hitting the seaside town.

A Facebook user uploaded the worrying footage saying: "People please be careful at the GrandBurstin folkstone the wall out the front has just collapsed and missed me, hope the old bloke who was stuck under the coach door is OK."

It is unconfirmed when exactly the footage was taken and the Daily Star has approached Britannia Hotels for more information on what caused the damage.

One person commented: "They've got to get shut down now surly."

Another replied: "Definitely should get shut down its falling apart."

"Thing needs demolishing, eye sore as it is," a third blasted.

The Grand Burstin may be billed on TripAdvisor as "superbly located on the seafront, overlooking Folkestone's picturesque harbour", but its 2.5 rating out of five suggests its guest experience doesn't quite live up to the location.

"Worst hotel ever," Paul L from Birmingham summed up following his visit last week.
