BRILLIANT footage shows an apparently sozzled man mistaking a shop window for a cash point – as he stands yards away from a real ATM.
The hopeless punter is shown focusing his efforts on a hard glass window, looking baffled as card after card fails to deliver his money.
In the excruciating video, a hole in the wall emblazoned with the word "cash" in enormous letters can be seen inches away from him to his left.
Harry Levison, 24, spotted the bizarre sight while on a bus stuck in traffic in Newcastle.
He suddenly saw the hapless man tapping on the glass mistaking it for a touch-screen, and filmed it with his equally bamboozled girlfriend.
"We couldn't stop laughing when we spotted what the guy was doing," said Harry.
When I first saw him he was rifling through his wallet so I've no idea how many cards he'd tried before that… he was trying everything, bless him
"When I first saw him he was rifling through his wallet so I've no idea how many cards he'd tried before that.
"But he was trying everything, bless him."
Harry said he saw a "fair amount of strange things" in the city, but this was a first.
The stunned careers adviser said he came across the spectacle at around 5pm on a midweek day after work.
"We were going across on the bus in slowly moving traffic," he explained.
"He was already there when we pulled up and stayed there for a few minutes readjusting his card.
"He was tapping on the window and looked a bit unsteady."
