EIGHT native species sit together in 'most Aussie picture ever'

‘Australia in a picture’: Incredible photo shows EIGHT native species sitting together in a backyard – can you spot them all?

  • A photo of a green tree frog eating a snake is dubbed most Aussie image ever
  • Eagle-eyed social media users spotted numerous other creatures lurking
  • Among them were spiders, isopods, a snail and even a possible stick insect

Eight native species have been spotted together in a backyard snap that social media users are calling the ‘most Aussie photograph ever’.

Captured in the picture is a green tree frog chomping down on a Carpentaria snake as a male redback dangling above watches on.

With just those three creatures identified, Facebook users were captivated by the image, but as eagle-eyed commenters looked closer, they began to spot several more hidden creepy-crawlies.

At the bottom of the photo is what appears to be a wolf spider tucked away under a leaf.

Another user said there was also a snail on the right side in the image, hidden among twigs and bark.

Others found two isopod bugs – or maybe a ‘moth, ant, may fly?’.

‘This is the most Aussie backyard ever,’ one user said.

‘Why are there so many animals in one photo?’ another commented.

‘This is like Where’s Wally,’ a third wrote.

Above the green tree frog eating the Carpentaria snake is what some users believe may be a may fly. To the right is a redback spider and a potential stick insect. Below is an antipode, a snail and at the very bottom of the frame is a wolf spider

A stick insect next to the frog was also identified by an animal enthusiast, but users quickly pointed out it’s actually just ‘dead grass’.

‘Just realised this isn’t a stick insect after looking at it closer, jokes on me,’ the commenter wrote.

One man even claimed he could see even more creatures in the frame.

‘As a true blue Aussie I can see 12 things in this photo that could kill me,’ he said.
