A murderer and rapist who killed two women either side of a jail sentence has died behind bars.
George Naylor, 77, first struck in December 1985 when he strangled a prostitute just eight weeks after he was released for raping a 61-year-old woman nine years earlier.
Freed again in 1993 after being found guilty of manslaughter, Naylor murdered 18-year-old prostitute Maureen Stepan, in Bradford, two years later.
The scrap dealer was jailed for life at Sheffield Crown Court in February 1999.
The Prison Service has confirmed that the evil lag locked up at HMP Frankland, died in hospital last Friday after suffering a stroke three days earlier.
The top security prisoner spent his final hours in a Palliative Care unit, The Sun reports.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: "HMP Frankland prisoner George Naylor died in hospital on December 17..
"The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed.”
Naylor was out of prison for just eight weeks following his sentence for rape, when he killed 22-year-old Deborah Kershaw in Bradford's red light district.
Her lifeless body was found lying in his car with only a few clothes on.

Naylor was freed in 1984 – just nine years into his 11 year sentence for manslaughter.
After a couple of years outside prison walls the monster attacked again killing 18-year-old sex worker Maureen Stepan who he strangled to death in her flat in Bradford.
Using cigarettes Naylor tried burning Ms Stepan's body but when investigated by police tried explaining that they had consensual sex in his car before splitting up.
Because the jury were told about his previous conviction for manslaughter, Naylor was granted a re-trial for murder in 1999 but was still found guilty of murder and jailed for at least 20 years.
In 2013 Naylor tried for early release again but leading judges rejected his plea as the case against him had been "powerful" and the evidence "strong".
Detective Chief Inspector Allan Doherty, who interviewed Naylor after his arrest, said: "George is an evil and cunning man.

"He is a cold, calculating killer who just snaps when he's angry."
In 2006 Naylor's ex-wife Linda Naylor, 55, said he hoped he would die in prison, ChronicleLive reports.
She said: "I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail and I hope it's a short life. "The man is a psychopath and should never be let out. He's a liar and a manipulator and I'm pleased he has to serve this long."
Naylor tested negative for Covid-19 but becomes the fourth prisoner to die at HMP Frankland since the the pandemic initial outbreak last year.
