Family's five generations meet up for first time to meet mum's latest arrival

THREE grans line up to meet a mum’s new arrival as five generations of the same family gather for the first time.

Alisha Almond, 23, gave birth to the latest addition, Ronnie Moore, two months ago.

But Covid lockdown bubbles meant the grans could not all see him and get together.

Ronnie’s great-great-gran, former East London market seller Pat Vincent, 85, said it was a “dream come true” to get to meet him.

Next in line was his great-gran, Kim Stratton, 64, a nursery chef, who lives with her mum in Bexleyheath, South East London.

They were joined by first-time grandmother, Claire Scott, 44 — primary school teacher Alisha’s mum.

Claire, of Sidcup, Kent, said: “We’re over the moon, absolutely delighted.

"I’ve never heard of anyone else having five generations, not around here anyway, I just think it’s amazing.

"We never thought it would happen if I’m honest.

“My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas, and she’s now been given the all clear — but at one point we didn’t think she would make it.

“We’re all going to muck in with the baby, we’ve got years and years of experience in nappy changing, so we’ve got to help out. It’s going to be family bonding time.”

Ronnie was named after his grandfather, who died two weeks before his arrival on April 1.
