Firefighters battle warehouse fire in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood

Denver firefighters battle a wind-whipped warehouse fire in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood on Tuesday evening.

The smoky, two-alarm fire at 3315 Walnut St. burned through the roof of the building, the fire department said. Fire officials reported the fire on Twitter at about 6:10 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries, said Capt. Greg Pixley, a fire department spokesman.

Winds were gusting to about 30 mph in Denver, according to the National Weather Service, when the fire broke out.

The gusting winds ramped up the danger of the fire and also raised concerns about the flames spreading to other buildings, Pixley said. By about 7 p.m. some of the two-alarm fire response units were being released from the scene, while other firefighters continued to house down the warehouse.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
