Mr Jones, who owns the Turf Hotel, said he would donate 100 per cent of the profits from his food van, along with any tips and donations received, for the week of December 19 to 24.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor McElhenney shared the tweet and added his own message, saying: ‘And we’ll double it. Drink up everyone!’
Donations have now flooded in from around the globe for Wrexham Food Bank.

In a statement, the charity said: ‘We are so touched by all the PayPal donations flooding in from supporters in America, Canada and the UK.
‘Please know that your money will be used to help the most vulnerable in our community whilst we continue to campaign for change.’
McElhenney hailed the foodbank as ‘incredible’ after a visit earlier this year to see the work they do.
The duo’s offer has attracted widespread praise within the community and afar, while the publican behind the initial appeal is being hailed a ‘hero’.

‘You deserve the lions share of the applause mate. For a local business to pledge that amount of revenue in the first place with everything thats going on with cost of living etc is a show of class,’ one local said.
Another wrote: ‘Wayne doing more for the local community than the local government. Wayne is the hero in this and I for one intend to leave the establishment very intoxicated one night after all it is for charity.’
It is the latest in a string of charitable donations made to the community by McElhenney and Deadpool star Reynolds.
Earlier this year, the duo pledged £10,000 each to help fund alternative treatment in a bid to help four-year-old Aria Hodgkiss, who tragically died of a brain tumour earlier this year.
The appeal eventually amassed £75,675.
