Couple reveals the very strange item they always take on planes – and it costs just over 1p | The Sun

A COUPLE have revealed why they take a strange item on board planes with them every time they fly.

Travelling by plane can be an untidy experience, with wrappers from snacks and empty drinks bottles piling up.

However, with just a 1p item, couple Brian and Amanda (@bdfagan) are able to keep their seats clean and tidy, making life easier for the flight crew as well as themselves.

In a video on Tiktok, the pair revealed that they take a dog poo bag with them on board flights, meaning they effectively have their own bin right between their seats.

Amanda is seen unravelling the bag and tying it to the tray table, giving the duo hands-free access when needed.

The bags can be found for as little as £1.10 for 100 from Waitrose, making them just 1.1p per bag.

The couple titled the video "I don't have a dog but I take these everywhere I go".

One Tiktok user was very impressed with the idea, simply saying: "So smart!"

The poo bags are far from the only unusual item people pack with them whenever they travel.

For example, Ashley Kosciolek, who writes for the Points Guy, never flies without a roll of duct tape.

While she said she knew it sounded "suspicious," she explained why it works.

She told Express.co.uk: "Two years ago I was travelling home for Thanksgiving and decided to gate-check my hard-sided carry-on luggage.

“When I picked it up at the end of the flight, it was cracked in two places and had a giant hole at the top.

“Thankfully, I had a roll of duct tape inside so I patched it up for the duration of my trip."

Elsewhere, Debbie, who works as an in-flight service manager for Air New Zealand, always flies with a silk pillowcase.

She admitted to New Zealand Herald it "sounds a little bit luxurious."

However, she uses the pillowcase to put over the pillow provided on the plane, which are often made from cheap material.

Meanwhile, these are the weirdest things you can take on a flight, if you really want to.

And these are some of the strangest things which are banned from the cabin.
