A major piece of construction equipment has fallen on a hospital in Melbourne’s south-east, causing significant damage to its roof.
Aerial images taken before 11am on Wednesday show the damage to a Frankston Hospital building from what appears to be an overturned piling rig from a neighbouring construction site.

Frankston Hospital is one of the largest medical centres on the Mornington Peninsula and construction started on a $1.1 billion redevelopment of the site in June.
The redevelopment includes a new 12-storey clinical services tower, 130 additional beds, new spaces for mental health and oncology services and 15 new operating theatres.
