The crimes of Fred and Rose West are being brought to light again as a police search in a café for a potential missing victim gets underway.

Mary Bastholm went missing in Gloucester in 1968, and officers are searching ini the cellar of a café she used to work in.

Fred West's son Stephen claimed his father admitted killing the 15-year-old girl, but the serial killer killed himself before he could stand trial for 12 murders.

Meanwhile, his wife, Rose West, was found guilty of murdering 10 girls – including her own daughter – with her husband Fred over a 20 year period.

Together they abducted, raped and murdered before burying the bodies in their grisly “House of Horrors”.

Before being killed they would lure them downstairs and carry out extreme acts of sexual violence and torture in their “horror dungeon”.

The Wests were finally arrested and charged for their crimes in 1994. Rose Wes is serving a life sentence and will die behind bars.

Here we take a closer look at their victims, and how they were murdered.

Anne McFall

Anne McFall was the nanny of Fred and his first wife Rena Costello’s children.

The 18-year-old was eight months pregnant when she went missing in July 1967, and Fred was believed to be the father.

Her body was found in June 1994 in a shallow grave in a cornfield.

Her limbs had been severed and several of her bones were missing.

Charmaine West

Charmaine was the daughter of his ex wife Rena.

After splitting from her mother, Fred took her in as his own, and Rose became step-mother to Charmaine.

While Fred was in jail for petty theft in June 1971, Rose murdered the eight-year old and hid her remains in the cellar for Fred to bury when he was released.

Fred encased the little girl in concrete in their first home, where she would remain undiscovered fore more than 25 years.

Lynda Gough

Lynda Gough was Rose and Fred’s first victim as a couple.

She was 19 at the time she was murdered at 25 Cromwell Street.

Lynda had left the family home on April 19 1973, leaving a note saying she had got a flat, where she had gone.

She most likely died in April 1973, with strangulation and suffocation being the cause of death.

Lynda was found dismembered with bones missing in a pit beneath the couple’s garage in 1994.

Rena West

Charmaine’s mum was believed to have been strangled to death in August 1971.

It is thought the 27-year-old wanted to confront Fred about her daughter’s whereabouts.

Her body was found dismembered in 1994 in Gloucester’s Letterbox Field.

Although both she and her daughter went missing in 1971, no missing person report had ever been filed.

Heather Ann West

Heather was the firstborn child of Rose and Fred, who died when she was 16.

She was abused by her parents, and after she told her friends, she suddenly went missing in 1987.

They claimed she had moved to Devon for work, but when Fred was arrested for raping his own daughter, and Rosemary for child abuse, the investigation into her disappearance was re-opened.

When police searched their home for Heather in 1994, they made the shocking discovery of human remains.

Heather had been murdered, dismembered and buried in the back garden.

Carol Ann Cooper

Carole Ann Cooper was last seen alive by her boyfriend, boarding a bus to her grandmother’s home.

She was reported missing the same day by her grandmother, but she couldn’t be traced.

The 15-year-old’s remains were eventually discovered in the “horror dungeon” of 25 Cromwell Street.

Lucy Partington

Lucy was a 21-year-old medieval English student at Exeter University.

She had left a friend’s house in a rush to get the last bus from Cheltenham to Gretton on December 27.

It is believed she was abducted from the bus stop.

Her dismembered body was found more than 20 years later in the cellar of Cromwell Street.

Therese Siegenthaler

Therese Siegenthaler, 21, was a student from Switzerland who came to England in late 1972/73.

She became a sociology student at Woolwich College of Further Education in London.

Therese left her accommodation in Lewisham on April 15 1974 to travel to Ireland, but never reached her destination.

She was due back in England the week after Easter, but never returned.

An investigation was carried out by the Metropolitan Police, but they had no success.

The prosecution believed she was abducted before being killed.

Her remains were later found in the basement of 25 Cromwell Street. Fred had built a fake chimney over her grave.

Shirley Hubbard, 15, was believed to have been abducted by the Wests.

At the time of her death she was on work experience at Debenhams in Worcester.

Shirley left work on November 14 1974, but was never seen again.

Her disappearance was reported, but Droitwich Police were unsuccessful.

Her body was found following an excavation into the concrete and plastic membrane of the cellar floor.

Juanita Mott

Juanita Mott vanished at the age of 18 in 1975.

She had lodged with the Wests earlier, but was living with a family friend in Newent when she disappeared.

She is believed to have been abducted while hitchhiking after accepting a lift from them.

Her body was found 19 years later under the concrete floor of 25 Cromwell Street.

Shirley Robinson

Shirley Robinson, 18, was the first victim buried outside the house.

She is believed to have had an affair with Fred, and was pregnant with his child in autumn 1977.

It was first claimed that she had moved to Scotland, but her body was found in the garden, under the patio.

Alison Chambers

Alison Chambers was born in Hanover in 1962, Germany, before she moved to Swansea.

When she was 16 she moved to Gloucester, where she worked for a solicitor firm under a Youth Training Scheme.

When she vanished her disappearance was reported, but she was not found.

Her dismembered body, with several bones missing, were finally discovered in February 1994.
