A LITTLE girl is fighting for her life after being savaged by a dog that jumped over a fence to drag her into the front yard.

The six-year-old, from Woodridge, Australia, was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after the mauling on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to an address on Ormesby Street just after 4.30pm local time amid reports of a horror dog attack.

The little girl reportedly suffered significant abdominal, chest and shoulder injuries after the Bull Arab breed pounced on her.

She is understood to have been on a fence adjacent to a footpath when the dog jumped up and dragged her into the front yard.

A male relative, in his 20s, bravely jumped the fence to rescue her and sustained leg injuries as the crazed animal then turned on him.

It comes just days after a woman was "torn apart" by her brother's beloved dog when she came to bring it food.

Patrizia La Marca, 53, was feeding the Rottweiler when the savage hound set on her and mangled the woman with its jaws.

She was understood to be tending to the dog in Ventimiglia, Italy, last Wednesday while her sibling was on holiday.

But the beastly canine reportedly attacked the woman and ripped off chunks of her body as she tried to defend herself.

Patrizia was found in a pool of her own blood by neighbours, before police shot and injured the animal, which was later taken to a kennel under judicial control.

The unprovoked attack is the latest in a string of maulings, that has saw the number of adults needing hospital treatment from dog bites triple in the past 20 years.

In September last year, five people were hospitalised after an out-of-control Rottweiler mauled them in a park.

Shocking footage also captured the moment a two-year-old boy was mauled by a ferocious a dog in Thailand.
