A girl was tied up and gang-raped after being tricked with the promise of a coronavirus vaccine in India, according to reports.
Two men identified as Rocky and Montu met the victim at a health centre in the city of Patna, Bihar state.
After convincing her they could provide a vaccination, they took the girl to an abandoned house where they raped her, according to reports.
The victim told police she was tied up by her hands and feet, and gagged with a handkerchief during the ordeal.
India is the middle of a devastating second wave of Covid-19, with the country now reaching 200,000 fatalities – the fourth highest global total behind only the US, Brazil and Mexico.
An investigating officer told the Indo-Asian News Service: "The victim managed to free herself and reached home. She narrated her ordeal before her family members who approached local police.
"As the accused were known to her, we raided their respective house on Wednesday morning and arrested them."
Enquiries are ongoing to determine how old the girl is, but police suspect she is younger than 18.
Patna, a city of two million people, is recording an average of more than 2,200 cases every day, far higher than the first peak in August which saw around 800 daily cases.
India is the current global epicentre of coronavirus infections and it is setting records each day for high case numbers. Another 379,257 were recorded on Thursday.
Another 3,645 fatalities were added to India's death toll of more than 200,000, however many think the true figures are much higher.
Officials have been accused of under-reporting the death figures amid harrowing scenes of mass cremations in New Delhi and Mumbai.
