Editor’s note: This is part of The Know’s series, Staff Favorites. Each week, we will offer our opinions on the best that Colorado has to offer for dining, shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities and more. (We’ll also let you in on some hidden gems).

We all have a literal list of restaurants to try that our friends have been telling us about for ages, right? Well, I knocked this Vietnamese spot off my list just so you can add it to yours.

If you’re a sucker for appetizers, too, then Golden Saigon in Aurora is the place for you.

The South Parker Road restaurant has been family-owned for more than 27 years, serving up a big and delicious menu of beloved Asian dishes from phó to Southern Vietnam-style clay pot curry and noodle bowls.

To start, we ordered steamed and fried dumplings as well as crab cheese wontons. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, offering a burst of flavor. And the curry sauce they are served with was so good we were putting it on our entrees as well. The wontons were crispy and the house-made tangy sauce they are paired with is delish.

Golden Saigon’s appetizers are going to be a frequent craving from now on.

But it’s not just the apps that impress. We ordered vegetarian low mein, sesame chicken and beef and broccoli to share as entrees. All three elicited murmurs of delight from the table. Each dish’s sauce managed to meet and exceed our expectations. And the portions are generous (yay, leftovers!).

The staff was friendly, and even sent us out the door with house-made ginger ale that was just as good as everything else we had that night.

Listen to this friend’s advice: Add Golden Saigon to your list of go-to restaurants right now.
