THIS is the horror moment a tourist and her allegedly unlicensed instructor died after their motorised hang-glider plunged into a gorge.

Anna Kozyreva, 43, was taking a joyride in the mountainous Adygea region of Russia on Sunday when the microlight plummeted "like a stone" to the ground.

Law enforcement officials said an investigation has been launched after the pilot took the woman for a paid ride without a licence to fly tourists.

Shocking footage showed the glider spiralling towards the ground in front of horrified onlookers.

Crowds could be heard crying out as the woman and the "unlicensed" instructor nosedived into the gorge as smoke poured from the stricken aircraft.

The microlight appeared to be out of control before the tragic crash in the mountains.
