The Texas man allegedly caught on camera with a Bengal tiger outside of his home was arrested on Monday night, police said.
Victor Hugo Cuevas, 26, faces charges of felony evading arrest for leading cops on a chase Sunday when they tried to question him about his wild companion, Houston Police said.
The big cat’s whereabouts are still unknown, the department said in a tweet announcing that Cuevas had been placed in custody.
Cuevas was allegedly filmed arguing with a neighbor mad that the tiger was prowling around the area.
The exotic animal was out in public in violation of city ordinances, prompting Cuevas to bring it back inside his home, where two monkeys also apparently live, cops said.
When officers responded to the house, Cuevas allegedly corralled the big cat into a white Jeep and took off.
He had been out on $250,000 bond on a murder charge filed in November, police said.
