Husband yells 'it’s a joke' after married teacher, 35, faces jail for sex with schoolboy, 15, in a field

A FUMING husband shouted "it's a joke" as his teacher wife was today found guilty of having sex with a 15-year-old boy in a field.

Kandice Barber, 35, had sex with the pupil after kissing him on the neck and whispering: "What do you want to do now?"

The mum-of-three then "threatened" to bring the lad down if he reported her and falsely accuse him of rape.

Barber was today convicted of one count of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity after a retrial at Amersham Law Courts.

The verdict, which took jurors ten hours and 39 minutes to reach, related to having sex with the boy in a field.

Her husband Daniel fumed "it's a joke" as it was read out this afternoon while Barber showed no emotion.

She was warned "custody is inevitable" as she was released on bail ahead of sentencing on a date to be set. The starting point for sentencing is five years in jail.

Barber was cleared of two other counts of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

This related to engaging in a sex act with the teenager in her 4×4 on the driveway ofher martial home in Wendover, Bucks, and performing a sex act on him in woodland.

She was previously found guilty of sending a video of herself surrounded by sex toys as she performed a sex act on herself.

Barber was also convicted after her first trial last year of messaging a topless picture to the boy on Snapchat.

'SEXUAL' MESSAGES

Jurors heard how the teacher began messaging the pupil in 2018 after taking his phone number at a school sports day prize-giving event.

Their texts soon turned "sexual" and Barber later picked him up in her 4×4 car before driving to a field.

Barber, whose three children are all school age, then had sex with the boy after asking he wanted to.

Barber, of Wendover, Bucks, continued to send the boy sordid texts – even while teaching him in class.

One message read: "You cannot make me blush when I am teaching now, poker face."

A schoolboy also claimed he saw messages from Barber, asking: "Do you prefer boobs or bum?”

The boy also showed a pal a shower selfie showing Barber's face and a picture of the supply teacher bending over a bed.

And he told one classmate "I s*****d her" when describing their outdoor sex.

WEB SEARCHES

At the same time, Barber searched "what is the name of someone you are having an affair with?" and the word "alibi" on Google.

She also typed in "a lie of where you have been" before later looking up "good secluded areas," and "Holiday Inn, Wycombe."

But the teacher claimed she only Googled "alibi" because she was trying to find out the name of the film Fatal Attraction.

Rumours soon began to swirl around the school with Barber telling the boy she would “bring him down with her” if the relationship was discovered.

She also encouraged him to delete messages she had sent although the pupil kept photographs of some of the more explicit texts.

Suspicions were also raised when Barber attended a football match the boy was playing in despite showing no interest before.

Barber was eventually arrested in March last year – four months after the headmaster saw an X-rated picture of her sweeping through the school.

But the boy denied having sex with her at first – claiming he was worried about his baby being born in prison as Barber had told him she was pregnant.

'STRONG' MARRIAGE

The teacher also claimed they never had sex and instead said her baby, which she later lost after suffering an ectopic pregnancy, was her husband Daniel Barber's.

But in a meeting with a social worker, the teacher admitted she sent the topless photo to him.

In a written statement, Barber said: "I categorically deny that I have ever had sexual intercourse with this boy.

"I have never seen him naked and he has never seen me naked."

Her husband also defended Barber in court – telling jurors their marriage is as "strong" as ever.

Mr Barber, who previously referred to his wife as his "rock", said he was unaffected by his wife's conviction for sending X-rated pictures.

The delivery driver added: "Our relationship is how it is today, it has never changed. We have always been good and we have always been strong."

He added: "When my wife is on the phone, I am not one of those people who constantly looks at her to see who she is on the phone to. I have full faith in her."

Barber’s defence team also tried to claim she was too small for the sex position described by the boy.

But Richard Milne, prosecuting, said Barber was too "savvy" to be caught up in the fake rumours she claimed the teen was spreading.

He said: "Mrs Barber is smart, she is not a fool, she is savvy, she is an adult, she is a teacher, she was in a teaching role at the school.

“Was she being given the run around by this boy simply making all of this up?"

He added: "She is smart, members of the jury, she did not forget. She was trying to pull the wool over your eyes."

Jurors last year at Aylesbury Crown Court were unable to reach verdicts on three charges of causing or inciting a child aged under 16 to engage in a sexual act.

Barber was acquitted of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activities while in a position of trust at her previous trial.

She was previously convicted of sexual communication with a child and causing a child to watch a sexual act by a person in a position of trust.
