Job growth exploded in March, with 916,000 nonfarm positions added, far outpacing projections. Under ordinary circumstances, politicians would be rushing to microphones to tout the good news.

But President Biden never mentioned it. And when Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said economic projections looked great, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi quickly contradicted him.

Why? Because telling the truth about the booming economy puts a lie to the idea that Biden’s $2.3 trillion “infrastructure” package is necessary, or even responsible.

This bill isn’t about creating jobs. It’s about paying off Democratic voters, transferring taxpayer money into union coffers, and having the government decide what gets spent where. Only 30 percent of the bill is even about infrastructure. Most of it provides for direct payments to favored liberal groups.

Moody’s Analytics says the economy will add 16.3 million jobs without the “infrastructure” bill. Pass it, and you add 2.7 million more — at a cost of $852,000 per job!

That’s why Pelosi and Biden are so willing to ignore or lie about the economy. They don’t want Americans to figure out we don’t need this spree.
