Just-married groom 'shot friend while driving after he suspected pal was having an affair with his new wife'

A JUST-married groom is accused of shooting his new wife's friend after he suspected they were having an affair.

Devin Jones, 30, was arrested on Saturday night – while still wearing his tuxedo – after police say he opened fire, hitting two people, including the pal.

His bride was still in her dress when police arrived on the scene in Louisiana, according to reports.

She is said to have told a nearby ambulance crew her husband was trying to kill her.

The newlywed couple and the friend were all reportedly in a car together when an argument broke out during a traffic jam.

After a verbal altercation the friend was hit in the leg running away from Jones, according to cops.

Sheriff Mike Tregre told L'Observateur: "While we were assisting the State Police, our 911 center started getting calls of a shooting in the traffic that was backed up from the crash. We got the call of the shooting at 11.08pm."

A second victim was shot in the hand when a bullet hit their vehicle, police said.

Both victims are in stable condition at the hospital.

Jones, from Alexandria, Louisiana, is facing a number of charges including attempted second degree murder.
