Lip reader spots Charles’ heartbreaking ‘did my best’ comment at Queen’s funeral

King Charles III made a heartbreaking comment to the clergy following his mum Queen Elizabeth II's committal service, a lip reader has revealed.

The late monarch was laid to rest at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle yesterday (September 19) after an emotional state funeral and committal which saw royals and fans alike in tears.

Charles understandably teary-eyed throughout the day as he bid farewell to his mum and, at one point, was given some touching words of encouragement by his sister Princess Anne.

And upon exiting the chapel, lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman noticed a tear-jerking exchange he had with the various archbishops and clergy.

He was seen shaking hands with Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of York, and saying: "Thank you, that was good work. You were wonderful."

The Archbishop replied: "You are welcome."

Charles then greeted the Reverend David Connor, the Dean of Windsor, and said: "Good work, good service."

Reverend Connor made a comment before the monarch replied: "I did my best."

He then waited for Camilla before they both got in the car.

When they sat down, Charles looked at his wife and asked: "Have you got everything?"

The camera cut to show the purple Rolls-Royce Phantom heading uphill towards Windsor Castle.

During the service, Jeremy also noticed Harry and William exchanging words as they were about to sit on the front pew.

And Camilla was spotted getting rather frustrated at Princess Charlotte and Prince George's actions earlier in the day.
