A limping man has been filmed chasing Jewish worshippers down a north London street armed with a huge stick.
The horrifying scenes were caught on camera and show the alleged attacker hobbling after the crowd shouting: ‘You’re lucky my legs don’t work.’
The disturbing incident was filmed on Dunsmure Road in Stamford Hill, north London, on Saturday.
According to the Jewish neighbourhood watch group Shomrim the crowd were on their way to the local synagogue for prayers.
In the footage, the man can be heard at one point screaming ‘call the f***ing police’ before trying to catch up with crowd – including children – just ahead of him.
Shomrim are now appealing for witnesses on social media, while it is understood the Met has also been informed.
The group was set up in the Stamford Hill area in 2008 to carry out reassuring patrols to fight anti-semitism in large Jewish communities in the city.
It has dozens of volunteers and also runs a crime hotline.

The group tweeted: ‘Dunmore (sic) Road N16 Sat 9am, Deranged male armed with a stick chased Jewish families on the way to #Synagogue
‘@Shomrim are appealing for victims & witnesses to contact us cad 5521 Tuesday, 05 January 2021.’
Shockingly those who filmed the crime were initially heard laughing as the scene unfolded in front of them, with children among those running across the road to get away from the attacker.
One person behind the camera is heard saying: ‘He’s chasing little Jewish girls. What are you going to do? Nothing? He’s hitting your people.’

The man armed with the stick then shouts ‘You are going to die’ at the group.
Scotland Yard has been contacted for comment.
Figures from the Community Security Trust reveal there was 1,805 antisemitic incidents recorded across the UK in 2019, a rise of over 1,000 since 2010.
People have responded with shock and anger to the footage.

Jason Green said: ‘This is awful, I wish someone had been there to help. Those poor people.’
Darren Flatt wrote: ‘What is wrong with some people, this is utterly ridiculous and disgusting behaviour, the individual’s involved must be so proud of themselves, we live in a very divided nation these days sadly!’
Tracie Bere added: ‘Truly sickening. I’m appalled. The people filming and laughing must be equally liable. I feel gut wrenched to see this blatant hate crime unfolding and no one helps.’
