Meghan Markle "loves" that the hospital she gave birth to daughter Lilibet Diana in is female-founded, it has been reported.
Last Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their little girl into the world at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on Friday, June 4 at 11.40am, announcing the sweet news on Sunday.
The new arrival, who weighed a healthy 7lb 11oz following the birth, has been named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor in a sweet nod to Harry’s relatives.
Lilibet is the Queen's favourite nickname while the baby's middle name was chosen to honour Harry's beloved late mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997.
And according to a report in People magazine, the couple chose the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital out of "several" options.
"They looked at several hospitals before they settled on the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital," a source told People.
"Meghan loves that it's female-founded."
They added: "Security and privacy were also priorities. They had a big security team that the hospital needed to accommodate."
Everything is also said to have gone smoothly for the couple on the big day, with the Sussexes free to "enjoy the birth in peace".
